Invite you to attend a conference and workshop
on Monday May 28th 2012
at the
Chimney House Hotel,Congleton Road
Sandbach, CW11 4ST
“Special Education Needs and Inclusion:
The parent’s experience and perspective.”
We are told as parents that our children’s special educational needs can be supported in their local mainstream school.
However is the experience of being included the same for all children and their parents?
Do all children and young people enjoy the same equality of access and opportunity?
Do they feel included in their school community? Are they making academic and personal progress?
If not, what can we do as parents and who do we turn to for support in a system where education reforms are changing how schools are financed, managed and measured and enjoying increased independence and autonomy?
Who is the “champion” for the vulnerable child or young person?
Please come and meet legal and education professionals and other parents to discuss these questions and more.
Hear updates on recent education legislation and policy and share your views and experiences
Speakers are: Joe Whittaker, Chairperson of the Alliance for Inclusion in Education (Allfie)
